I SCORED A STUBBIE HOLDER
It looks like I have a trip to the Hunter to make. I was in the Station Bar Katoomba the other day for the usual, mid week tipple, and to see if anything new had turned up. While there a ,I suppose, sales rep from what turned out to be, upon asking the br staff, the man from Hope Estate which was when I learned that the Hope Estate is opening or has opened a brewery/brewhouse. I don’t know anything about the brewery or if the Station Bar is planning to put any of their beers on in the near future. I lifted the following from their internet site :- “We knew something had to be done, so in 2014 we built the Hope Brewhouse right here. Our mission: create the finest concert beer experience in the country. Maybe the world. The beer’s made fifty metres from where it’s served, 100% fresh. No preservatives, no pasteurisation, nothing between you and the pure beer flavour.
Brewer Matt Hogan brings a winemaker’s approach to brewing, adding new dimensions to old favourites. He also brings a maniacal level of productivity, knocking out a relentless stream of interesting new brews. At any given time he has about 10 different beers on the go, from classic sunny afternoon cleansers to heavyweight oak-barrel flavour monsters. Even a gluten-free number that’ll give you a whole new appreciation of rice.
All our beers are on tap in the cellar door. You can buy tasting paddles of 4 beers for $8 in the cellar door, and take home fresh beer in our 2L growlers, cans or bottles.” It seems that the beers are brewed in small batches no maybe not all the beers are available or the time and maybe there may be new ones added to the list but this is what was listed now. Oh and I scored myself a stubbie holder from the bar ladies.
