TWO BITTERS

HAPPY GOBLIN BITTER 4.4%
I thought this a very nice beer , maybe one of the best beers I have had for a while because this is the style I prefer.  I think it is more in line with a British style beer, with the bitters coming in but not overwhelming the malts, not highly carbonated. I couldn’t find this beer in the Happy Goblin site so maybe it is one of their specials. I seem to recall hearing that Happy Goblin brews more in the English style than the Americans and I certainly hope that they continue to do so.

SHEPHERD NEAME SPITFIRE BOTTLE OF BRITAIN KENTISH ALE 4.4%.      An English bitter.  It is malty with a plummy taste or should that be raisin, which ever one it is, it is a nice beer. It is hard to say if this beer is better than the first one but it is at least as good. The one advantage it had over the Happy Goblin was the size of the tin it came in about 20 to 25% bigger
