SATURDAY THE FOURTH OF JULY
THE ALEXANDRIA HOTEL, MUDGEE WHEAT 4.7% Quite a refreshing wheat beer pretty typical of the style with all the aromas and taste you might expect with a wheat, It is good to see a true wheat of this type on tap, as it is so often a rare sight.
NEW IVANHO HOTEL; THE IVY (my local maybe) two or three schooners of TOOHEY’S OLD
Back home for a Fourth of July American beer drink. I don’t bother with public holidays of other countries other than it gave me a theme when picking up a few beers at the Leura Cellars.
Will have to save half the beers for Sunday the Fourth of July
MAD RIVER FLOR DE JAIMACA ALE 5.6% Red. a bit like a cold hibiscus tea which I quite liked but I think there would be a time and a place for this beer, Definitely an after taste of berries, either strawberry or raspberry, and fizzy. I like the word frizzante.
BALLAST POINT BIG EYE AMERICAN IPA 7%
FIRESTONE WALKER UNION JACK IPA 7.5% A hoppy beer with noticeable citrus notes and a lightish malt taste, a bit of fruitiness
