SCHOFFERHOFER;WEIHENSTEPHANER & YOUNGS

EUROVISION AND THE NEAREST THING TO AUSTRIAN BEERS I COULD FIND

SCOFFERHOFER HEFEWEIZEN; A cloudy wheat pours with a big head and had only a very small amount of yeast in the bottom of the glass, with a little of fruity flavours that goes with a wheat beer and had very minimal hoppy bitterness

SCHOFFERHOFER KRISTALLWEIZEN ; A clear and sparkling beer with a smaller head than the other one, no sediment  and a hint of hops a very easy to drink beer

WEIHENSTEPHANER KRISTAL WEISBEIR 5.4% Very similar to the Schofferhofer Kristal

All three where very easy to drink and I think that there would be no problem in necking a couple more.

I am not impressed with he Schofferhofer web site not much information and I couldn’t find anywhere including on the label what the abv’s are.

YOUNGS HUMMINGBIRD 4.2%

There is not a big connection between the three above,. The hops in this beer where noticeable they where not over the top. It doesn’t say anywhere I could see either on the bottle label or the web site but seeing as it has golden in the tasting notes and has a hummingbird picture it is just possible that it is summer ale or a golden ale which may well be the same thing.

From the web site “It’s the new world Galaxy and Ella hops from Australia, which give Hummingbird its aromatic tropical notes. Light, golden and full-flavoured with a refreshing tropical fruit note and gentle malt and bitter sweet finish.”….
