LUNCH :THE “LAPO “: THE STATION BAR and GALVANISED NAILS
Had a Kingfisher Premium Lager with a good Indian lunch at Harris Park the other day, while it may not be the most exciting beer in the world t wasn’t all that bad with the meal, one thing to mention though was its almost total lack of carbonation.
On the way home we stopped off at the Lapstone Hotel aka The Lapo, and had a Matilda Bay Ruby Tuesday, which was the nearest thing to a non mainstream beer they. The Lapo is probably popular for the locals and it used to have a good reputation for meals and may still do but I didn’t try the food , and I seem to recall that it was a known for pizza. Probably gets family’s plus kids in but was very quite when I was there.
At the Station Bar the night before I had a Wolf of the Two Birds West A.P.A., a Young Henrys Hop Ale which was on the hand pump and a Holgate’s Temptress and I think I have covered all those beers before.
I have commented recently that I think there are two many pale ales around which leaves no room for other styles so I have bought a few non pale ale style beer to have at home which I will write about next. I have tried to think of a description for the after taste of the hoppy pale ales and until something better comes to mind I have decided on a taste that brings to mind a mouthful of galvanised nails.
