MORE PALE ALES

THE OLD CITY BANK BAR – CARRINGTON

Trotted in here for a bit of late lunch and a beer. A pretty hopeless place, three people behind the bar and cant get served, actually three people but none of them behind the bar. When eventually the lunch came it wasn’t bad but not good enough to justify the crap service. Also not impressed with the range of beer, I had a Rocks Pale Ale, I didn’t find it a particularly good example of the style, it tasted bit “dusty” to me .

I also went into the Gardeners at Blackheath and had the one of Australian Breweries Pale Ale, another over hopped beer so one was enough.

At home I had a  Badgers Beer, Tanglefoot Premium Ale, an English Pale  Ale 5%. This is a very nice pale ale, malt and hops much better balanced with the accent on the malt rather than the hops with a creamy mouthfeel.  And this one came in a tin.
