TWO AMERICAN BEERS AND ONE BAVARIAN BEER
I am going to drink a couple of American beers when I can,
I have not always been totally committed to them as much as some seem to be
because I find that often they are often hopped way over the top,
some almost to the point of being unpleasant and I don’t necessarily see the need
for every other brewer to follow they American trend slavishly
So first off I have tried the following two.
SIERRA NEVADA HEFFERWEISEN 4.8%
This is a very nice wheat beer
A it surprising to me because i am a bit wary of Sierra Nevada beers
as I usually find them too aggressively hopped for my taste
This has similar characteristics as Belgian and Bavarian wheats, which I suppose is obvious from the name
I get a hint of oranges in the taste and I suppose there is coriander but I cant identify that
and there is a creamy mouth feel to this beer.
FOUNDERS “ALL DAY IPA” SESSION ALE 4.7%
A big hoppy aroma as soon as the cap comes off the bottle
Noticeable bitters, easy enough beer to drink, the the bitter taste lingers for a while 4.7%
This is another nice beer,
Of the two however I think I prefer the Sierra Nevada which comes as a bit of surprise to me.
HELLES SCHLENKERLA LAGERBIER 4.3%
This is a really nice beer exceedingly easy to drink
the smoke is noticeable but is not as strong as some of the other beers from this brewery.
To me it is by far the most sessionable beer of the three
