I stopped off at the Blue Mountains Hotel at Lawson on the way home today,
I never knew it was called the Blue Mountains Hotel, it was always the Lawson Pub to me .
Moving on I had a couple of middies of Kilkenny, well, it was afternoon school 40 zone time and there was a policeman with a camera 500 metres down the road.
In some ways this is a funny pub, at first glance I don’t think there is much to say about it but it is very easy to just sit and while away a few hours.
I don’t know how to describe the décor exactly other then to say it is a bit “footrot flats”. in the centre of the bar it has what looks like a copper corrugated tank with the beer taps set in it.
It has sixteen or so taps and I have attached a photo of the beer list so you can see why I had a Kilkenny.
While it may have sixteen taps, two where off ,two had light beers, one a cider and one a Canadian Club. Can anyone explain why a pub has the TV in the main bar switched to children’s television programs when children are not supposed to be allowed in the bar area?
So, not being able to have another beer at the pub;I had a Holgate’s Brewhouse Pilsner when I got home, an easy enough to drink German style pilsner.
