FIRST HALF OF THE MIXED BAG OF BOTTLES
I bought a small mix of beers from Leura Cellars for tonight and tomorrow.
I started off with a Schlenkerla Rausbier Weizen,5.2%
the smoke definately comes through in this beer but it is more restrained than the dopple bock
Later I had a bottle of Brew Dog, Fake Lager, Bohemian Pilsner 4.7% , quite an easy to drink beer from this brewery considering some of the beers they turn out
I also bought a couple of beers from the McGargle brewery of Ireland. I have never had these before so you have to get them when you see them, you may never come across them again.
The first was Knock Knock Ned,6.5% an IPA, I dont know whether to call this a malty hoppy beer or a hoppy malty beer,
which ever term is used I thought the beer had a honey like texture to go with the hops
The other one was Granny Mary’s Red Ale 4.4%, a very easy to drink and I think the better of the two.
All in all I think the First beer the Weizen would be the beer I would say was the most sessionable of the four.
