I dropped in to the Rocks Brewery Bar at Alexandria for lunch, for an out of towner it was a bit of a test to locate and a bigger test to work out how to get to the best parking place but once there all was well.
ROCKS BREWERY BAR
Lunch there was very goodwe had a chicken burger and a smoked brisket sandwich which cost $15 and $16 respectively. mMuch better than the usual pub fare particularly the smoked brisket , for sandwich read long bread roll, bigger thn the burger. By th etime I remembered to take a picture they where both gone
The first round of beers was a Boxer Red Ale and a Boxer One Shot Red Ale Caffeinated, with definate coffee notes, and which I thought had some lambic influences. I did think that both beers started to taste a touch petrolly with the last few mls.
BOXER RED ALE AND BOXER ONE SHOT RED ALE
The next round was a Conviction Series IPA and a Convict Lager, the Lager being the easiest drinking beer of the four, the lager being darker than the IPA
CONVICT LAGER AND CONVICTION IPA
The Rocks Brewery is well worth a visit, the food is good. It will be interesting to see if the beer styles expand over time to a pilasner; farmhouse ale; a wheat or an ESB.
