I was given a couple of bottles of Brew Cult Rye Supa Fly IPA which had been in a fridge which had been set to low and had frozen, when thawed out, other than one which was a bit flatter than the other it was perfectly ok still plenty of hoppiness.
With Cavalier Brown Ale I could smell the choc/ coffee malts while still pouring this beer though the taste of these don’t come through all that strongly when drinking the beer.
A huge frothy head but that might have been pourer
Almost a little sour with a dusty aroma I thought. Maybe also somewhat thin for a brown ale.
I really want to be more enthusiastic about this beer but it is a stretch. A very challenging and interesting beer very hard for me to categorise and I wonder if it failed to live up to the promise when first uncapped.
