I have said earlier that I thought the Tourist Information Centres where a good thing so:-
I have found that the Tourist Information Centres around this country but in NSW particularly are very good.
You can usually find clean toilets and a place to park and quite a few of them have cafes so you can have a sit down and a reviver while gathering information on the area you have just arrived.
The people staffing these centres are nearly always cheerful and they try to help as much as possible with answering questions about the locale.
I am a big fan of free maps and find it worthwhile to stop a centre to pick one up and get advice on local road conditions while I am there.
If I had an issue with these places it would be that anything missing in the detail would be information on those places that choose not to be a member of the tourist association. Not their problem but it does leave gaps and I refer back to my previous post about pubs on this.
Some of them are quite extensive with museums and art and cultural exhibitions as well as crafts and local produce
But as I said last time the head offices cant seem to bother responding to emails
I hope my camera will be back on line next week so that I can add a couple of photo’s
